We work on Aalto University campus, in an office building owned by Aalto University Campus and Real Estate (ACRE).
Starting from 2016, all electricity consumed on Aalto University campus has been covered using renewable forms of energy (certified bio and wind power, in addition to local production).
Certified electricity includes a guarantee of origin, i.e. the seller of the electricity must produce at least as much electricity as is indicated in the guarantee using the forms of energy indicated in the guarantee.
ACRE is also actively working to reduce the carbon dioxide (CO2) footprint of the campus buildings' heating and cooling.
We also utilize IT Center for Science’s (CSC) computational resources.
In 2018 (and years before), all electricity used by CSC data centres and office facilities came from renewable energy sources, that did not generate carbon dioxide emissions.
We are selective about work related travel, and seek to use public transportation for work trips.
